  • Chicago, IL - 2007-03-02 - OpenTextT Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), the largest independent provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software and solutions, today announced the acquisition of Momentum Systems, Inc., a privately held company that specializes in providing complex ECM solutions to U.S. government agencies. With the acquisition, OpenText expands its solutions expertise in the U.S. government market.

The agreement was completed with an effective date of March 1, 2007. It is currently anticipated that the financial terms and future impact of this agreement will not have a material effect on future financial results of OpenText.

Established in 1993 and based in Arlington, Virginia, Momentum Systems has been a leading OpenText Global Alliance Partner in the U.S. government sector for more than 12 years. With an experienced staff of over 50 people located primarily in the Washington D.C. area, Momentum has had a successful track record of implementing and supporting Content Server ECM solutions across all levels of government, including at some of the U.S.'s largest federal agencies. The acquisition will not result in any material change to staff levels at either Momentum or at OpenText.

OpenText Public Sector Solutions to deliver Content Server-based Records Management solution to the Defense Contract Audit Agency

Working together, OpenText Public Sector Solutions and OpenText Global Services, are in the early phases of developing a comprehensive Records Management, Document Management, and Workflow solution for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Building upon a successful pilot program, Phase I of the project involves deploying the Records Management solution; rolling it out on a region-by-region basis to 4000 people across the country in five different offices.

For this effort, OpenText Public Sector Solutions will capture requirements (assessing the "as is" environment) and design improved records management processes utilizing the latest OpenText RM tool. OpenText Public Sector Solutions will convert data from the current iRIMS and migrate it to the new RM solution. In addition, OpenText Public Sector Solutions will provide deployment support, create training materials, deliver training and training support to DCAA system administrators, regional system administrators, and end users.

For Phase II, OpenText Public Sector Solutions will design, develop, and implement Content Server-based Document Management and Workflow solutions.

OpenText Public Sector Solutions to provide Content Server support services and deploy Content Server-based solutions throughout the U.S. Air Force, Office of Special Investigations

Following OpenText Public Sector Solutions Systems' successful deployment of a Content Server-based Suspense Tracking System for the Department of the Air Force, Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), OpenText Public Sector Solutions was awarded a new 5-year contract to deliver technical support and system maintenance services, as well as to design, build, and deploy a variety of OpenText Content Server-based system enhancements.

The first task OpenText Public Sector Solutions will tackle involves assisting with the deployment of the OSILINK system. OpenText Public Sector Solutions will deliver day-to-day Content Server end user support, help desk support, Content Server-AFOSI legacy system integration support, business analysis, and Content Server Community Information Security (CIS) model support. In addition, OpenText Public Sector Solutions will provide on-site maintenance and handle software installations, database upkeep, troubleshooting and debugging activities.

Over the coming year, OpenText Public Sector Solutions will turn its focus to automating key business processes, including the AFOSI awards and decorations, performance reviews, general staffing and e-staffing processes. OpenText Public Sector Solutions will also upgrade OSILINK's records management capabilities using the latest Content Server Records Management module and bar-coding technologies, facilitating full record life-cycle management.
